Warlingham Surgery

June Venters QC has lived in the Warlingham area for almost 20 years and as part of her commitment to serving the public, she has chosen to offer weekly Advice and Mediation to the local community.

You will have the opportunity to meet with a Legal Adviser or Mediator who will be able to advise you what options may be available to you. More Information

With the current financial difficulties and the increasing restrictions on legal aid, fewer people are able to access justice and more people are representing themselves in court - both stress factors. It is with this in mind that we hope our Surgery will have a benefit to the public as a whole.

As part of this service, Venters Solicitors will be able to assist you to determine whether you would be eligible for legal aid [public funding] were you to decide to pursue your case beyond the Surgery. It is, therefore, important to bring with you the following written information:

a) If employed:

  • Your P 60 [if possible]
  • Your last month's wage slip(s) [if not available, evidence of any bank account, eg copies of most recent bank statements]
  • Copies of recent utility bills eg council tax; electricity; gas [if possible]
  • If self-employed, your most recent audited accounts
  • Any welfare benefit you may receive eg job seekers

b) If unemployed:

  • Proof of receipt of income support
  • Proof of any other welfare benefit you may be receiving

If, after calculating your financial position, you are not found to be eligible for free Legal Advice or Mediation [outside the Surgery] and should you choose to engage us to pursue a particular option on your behalf we will be able to provide you with details of our charges and an estimate before undertaking any work on your behalf.

If you are seeking advice in an area of law in which Venters Solicitors do not specialise, we would be happy to signpost you to an alternative service which may be able to assist.

For further information please see our website, the address of which is www.venters.co.uk. Mediation and Domestic Violence brochures are available at Reception.

Should you wish to arrange an appointment to meet with us please telephone:

01737 229 610

We are happy to meet with clients at the Surgery by prior appointment at any time Monday-Friday for the purposes of legal advice or mediation.
